Folding-pin bodies have to hold the pin carriage square while leaving enough clearance for the hinge to swing. The two slots here are molded in one piece with the body and the carriage recess is on the underside, so the visible face stays clean. Parts are molded in PC and packed ready for the pin assembly line.
